April

20th - kick-off event (friends, neighbors and media visited. A temporary schedule for visits was set)

22th - a neighbor visited

23th - a working meeting, 2 people visited

29th - friends and neighbors visited, 5 people

30th - a neighbor with a friend visited


Total 10 visitors in April.


The website of the art center is launched!



May

6th - friends from Tokyo and new acquaintances visited, 4 people (a Ukrainian couple who evacuated at the same time as Alona stayed at the Yano family's house in Miyoshi during Golden Week. On the last day they visited the art center, after which they walked around Wakimachi. A Japanese man who continues to support Ukraine, Mr. Pika Chujo, visited us with a friend. He is from Tokushima and before worked for a building waterproofing company. He is good friends with Mr. Naito from Naito Construction, an architectural firm in Wakimachi. And when Mr. Pika Chujo comes to Japan, he usually comes to Mima. This time he contacted us after hearing about the opening of the art center.    https://x.com/chujopika )

7th - 1 visitor (Alona took a break from the art center because she was tired. Yano had business in Mima, so after he opened the art center and started working. And one man from the neighborhood came in)


13th - project meeting 4 visitors (For the Setouchi Triennale 2025 art project of the Christiaan Bastiaans and Roosmarijn Pallandt, Alona Chyzhenko was invited to take a participation in project and gives an interview about her emigration experience to Japan. 

The interview team of Setouchi Triennale was of four people offline and and two online:

– Christiaan Bastiaans (artist based in Amsterdam)

– Tow (art coordinator for this art project)

– Kimura (recording assistant)

– Amari (the head of NPO Setouchi Koebi Network)

- Rei (online, Art front gallery)

- Nata Skotar (online, translator from Ukrainian to Japanese)

14th - one visitor (a newspaper reporter). Fill in the English version of the website.

16th - the documentary video about the preparations for the Kick-off was edited and published on YouTube channel



17th - tables and chairs were transported to the art center (The friend Mr. Harada from the Yoshinogawa community provided tables and chairs for the art center. Alona and Yano transported and assembled them)

18th - fill in the Japanese version of the website.

20th - project meeting, 2 visitors (Meeting with two teachers from Anan Shiritsu Fukui Junior High School. 阿南市立 福井中学校 Alona was invited for lecture) 

21th - 6 people (workshop of decorating Easter egg for school students)

25th - 2 people, Easter egg workshop.

27th - 5 people (Easter egg workshop for schoolchildren and a friend came over)


Total 25 visitors in May


June

22th - 4 visitors (Because of summer and air conditioning doesn't work in the art center.  Alona rent a room in Miraizu center for Easter egg workshop)

29th - 1 visitor (Easter egg workshop in Miraizu center)


Total 5 visitors in June


July

Started the process of installing a new electrical box and 200 volts.


2th - project meeting, 1 visitor (invitation from Joto High School college in Tokushima to give a 15 min. lecture about Ukrainian culture)

9th - moved glass display cases to the art center (The friend Mr. Harada from the Yoshinogawa community provided glass display cases for the art center, and Yano with a friend from Sakazuki Botanical helped move them)


Total 1 visitor in July.


August

 

22th - 1 hour lecture at Anan Shiritsu Fukui Junior High School about Alona's war experience, evacuee, work,  kids rights during the war and art center in Mima (was about 18 students and 5 teachers)

27th - new electrical box and 200 volts installed. Air conditioner and elevator working. Water pump not working. 

31th - 7 visitors (Easter egg workshop in Miraizu center)
